"In the words of its creator, this work is meant to symbolize, through the form of a dancing group, man's solidarity and struggle in the face of nature. The artist seeks to identify man's struggle toward progress in the unified, environment-evoking movements of the group. The depiction is achieved by combining the reality of a world composed of a material "environment" with the repeated motions employed in China's traditional folk dance."
